Literacy Waikato

About Us

Mission statement: to provide a quality literacy and numeracy service to adults in the community.

Literacy Waikato is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1977.

We offer group courses in literacy, numeracy, basic computing and driver’s licencing, as well as workplace literacy and yearly tutor training courses, after which tutors are encouraged to volunteer to work one hour per week with a learner.

We also offer one-to-one tutoring for individuals specific to the needs of the learner.

We service a wide geographical area in the Waikato region, from Hamilton City to Raglan in the west, Matamata in the east and Cambridge to the southeast.
